Special International Jazz Day Concert – Thursday, April 30, 2026 – Dave McWhorter & Friends – 7:00-8:15pm

The Jazz Arts Foundation and the Lexington Public Library continue their Season 17 of Jazz: Live at the Library! with a special concert on April 30th presented in the Farish Theatre at the Central Library Branch at 140 East Main Street. This additional show is presented for Lexington to participate with organizations from all over the globe, joining together in a worldwide day of celebration of Jazz. While April is designated by the Smithsonian as Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM), April 30th is set aside as International Jazz Day by UNSECO.
We are proud to have the quintet of Dave McWhorter & Friends coming from all over the region for this unique singular appearance, performing a program of American Jazz Standards that were composed by International Jazz Artists. This group features Lexington
guitarist Ross Whitaker, Isaac Stephens (Louisville) on saxophone/trumpet, Bryson Dunsmore (Shelbyville) on piano, Mike Sharfe (Cincinnati) on bass and Dave on drums. Please come and celebrate with us on this special evening presented by The Jazz Arts Foundation, Inc.; www.jazzartsfoundation.org
