The Jazz Arts Foundation has announced that Nate Stombaugh is the 2019 Duke Madison Memorial Scholarship recipient. Nate plays trumpet in the Central Kentucky Youth Jazz Arts Orchestra. The scholarship pays for the tuition and lodging at the famed Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshop in July, 2019. Click HERE for more information about the scholarship, past recipients and Nate.
There will be a Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 6 to 7 PM at the Eastside Branch Library, 3000 Blake James Dr, Lexington , KY 40509 in the 2nd Floor small meeting room.
Once again this year our Jazz on the Porch concert series will take place the last Sunday of each month from May to September. Due to popular demand, the same 5 groups have been signed up once again. The Jazz Arts Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, educational organization whose mission is “to enhance the awareness of Jazz as a performing art.” Since its establishment in 1989, the Foundation has published newsletters, coordinated jazz calendars, awarded educational scholarships and sponsored many jazz events and performances.
