JAZZ: LIVE AT THE LIBRARY! - February 21, 2010
Featuring the "Open World Jazz Ensemble": Russian Conservatory-trained college age student musicians
Samir Kambarov/saxophone, Andrey Marukhin/piano, Vladimir Druzhinin/bass,
and Yevgeniy Ivantsov/drums, with Olga Petrova, facilitator.
The Open World Leadership Program actively connects Russian professionals in all areas (law, government, medicine, education, and more) with their counterparts in the United States. Open World recognizes the importance of the arts in exchanges and has enabled Russian emerging jazz artists, who have never visited the United States, the opportunity to study and perform alongside American professionals and students. The Jamey Aebersold Jazz Studies at the University of Louisville School of Music is sharing this special jazz performance with the Lexington Public Library through The Jazz Arts Foundation.
