Thursday, March 1:  The Norton Center for the Arts presents The Tierney Sutton Band The Sting Variations at 7:30 PM in the Weisiger Theater, 600 West Walnut St., Danville, KY. Tickets are on sale now at $39 to $49 by either calling 1-877-HIT-SHOW or on their website. Click HERE for more information. Vocalist and eight-time Grammy®-nominee Tierney Sutton has been recording for almost three decades. She is known for her lush singing of American standards and her genuine love for music and people, and in her most recent album, she explores the musical legacy of Singer/Songwriter Sting. Last year’s The Sting Variations, which brilliantly transforms highly creative meditations on the songs of Sting and the Police, was nominated for “Best Jazz Vocal Album” during the 2017 Grammy®-Awards. Thursday, February 22:  The Redmoor, 3187 Linwood Avenue, Cincinnati, OH features the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra (CCJO) presenting The Dizzy Gillespie Centennial. Doors open at 6pm, show at 7pm. All seating is first come first served – your party will be seated as soon as everyone has arrived. Dizzy Gillespie was a visionary architect of bebop, a peerless trumpet virtuoso, and a gifted educator, dancer and raconteur. The CCJO will dig deep into the musical world of this jazz icon. As much a revolution as it was a movement, bebop marked a decisive line between old and new, ushering in the modern era of jazz.Admission is $20 ($10 for student/child).
