Jessie Laine Powell “Fill The Void” CD Release Concert

I wanted to share some important jazz news taking place Thursday, May 26th at the Downtown Arts Center, 141 E Main St, Lexington, that should be of interest! I have attached a poster (click HERE) that has some of this info, but I wanted to get you some of the inside stuff about the show. The poster shows who is singing, but it does not mention the other players involved.  Joining Jessie, Thursday May 26, will be some great players:  Kendall Carter, Keyboards, Ron Davidson, Guitar, Bob Hackett, Bass and John Knight, on Drums, with special appearances by Upshaw Briggs, saxophone and Marlin McKay, trumpet and fluegelhorn. This is gonna be a great band behind a great singer! You have enjoyed their performances at our Library Shows, and they are helping Jessie on this album release concert to promote her new CD: Fill the Void.  Unlike the Library shows, this event is not free, but a portion of the proceeds are going to the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center.  The VIP ticket includes a pre-show cocktail party with light hors d’oeurves  and soft bar (wine/beer) and Reserved Seating!  General admission gets you in the door. Click HERE for more information on our Local Jazz Events page.
I hope to see you there, “Drummer” Dave McWhorter, JAF President
